Kathleen “Kay” Awty founded The Awty School as a preschool in 1956. In 1975, an Upper School was incorporated, and by 1984 Awty merged with the French School of Houston to become The Awty International School.

Today, The Awty International School is Houston's premier international school, serving students from PK3 to 12th grade. Awty offers students a rigorous path to graduating with either the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or the French Baccalauréat (FB) Diploma. Awty is the only school in Houston to be fully accredited by the French Ministry of Education.

In addition to a challenging curriculum, Awty provides students with a kind and friendly environment, in which diverse cultures, nationalities, and languages are celebrated. Social-emotional learning and character development are highly emphasized, empowering students with resilience, empathy, and problem-solving skills as they grow to become responsible world citizens.

ADMISSIONS FOR 2025-2026 ENTRY

Applications for the 2025-2026 school year will open September 1, 2024. Please note the application deadlines:

Applicants for Primary School (PK3-5th/CM2): October 31

Applicants for Secondary School (6th/6ème-12th/Tle): November 15

ONLINE APPLICATION PORTAL - RAVENNA

The Awty International School uses Ravenna, a web-based software, for the submission of online applications. Ravenna allows you to efficiently apply and track the status of your application online. Additionally, Ravenna allows you to schedule admissions events and view the decision notification. You will be asked to create a family account and a profile for each child you are applying. Please be sure to enter both/all parent/guardian's information in the profile. If you are applying for multiple children, the basic biographical information you enter about your family will auto-populate in each application form you complete, saving you time and effort.

ADMISSIONS FOR 2024-2025 ENTRY

The Awty International School is fully enrolled for the 2024-2025 school year. Families who've been recently notified of a relocation should contact Admissions with questions about mid-year entry. However, there is no guarantee a space will become available.
