At the 6th TEDxShekou Intl School Event, ten SIS students, teachers, and community members took the stage to share their insightful thoughts and unique visions under the theme ‘Press Play.’ The youngest speakers, Grade 5 students, demonstrated wisdom and expression far beyond their years.

Through their TEDx talks, the speakers led the audience on a journey exploring the sources of happiness, life choices, women's perseverance and contributions, the appeal of sports, and spiritual insights.

"Because at the end of the day, it is not about how much money we make that surrounds fulfilment, it is about the meaningful contributions we make on our lives and the lives of others," Michael, a Grade 11 student, mentioned in his talk, "The False Promises of Upward-Mobility."

Grade 5 student Annie, whose topic was "How Music Shaped My Identity," highlighted, "Every note, every melody, every music, every beat, every rhythm has a story, a background, and meaning; please remember to be persistent."

Beyond their powerful speeches, SIS students showcased their artistic talents through music and performance.

Notably, the entire TEDx event was student-led, with teacher guidance, highlighting the exceptional organisational and leadership skills of SIS students.

This event not only pressed the 'play' button on open-minded thinking, self-expression, and critical inquiry but also provided a platform for students to inspire others.
