The SIS French Exchange Programme recently concluded an eleven-day educational and cultural journey across France. Designed to deepen students' linguistic competence and intercultural awareness, the experience offered an immersive exploration of French heritage, daily life, and collaborative learning.

Exploring Cultural and

Historical Contexts

Students engaged with France’s rich cultural landscape through visits to iconic sites such as the Seine River, the Louvre Museum, the Arc de Triomphe, the Eiffel Tower, and the Palace of Versailles. These experiences were complemented by excursions to the Château de Chambord, Château de Chenonceau, Château de Cheverny, the Royal city of Loches, and Mont-Saint-Michel, where students witnessed the interdiv of history, art, and the natural world.

Authentic Living and Learning

In Rouen, participants lived with host families, providing first-hand insight into everyday French life. Educational visits included the Carillon Tower, the Aître Saint-Maclou, and the industrial museum of rope-Vallois. At Neufchâtel-en-Bray's high school, students took part in school-based activities alongside their French peers, fostering intercultural dialogue through collaborative learning and play.

Strengthening Global Connections

Between March 18th and March 24th, after a year of online engagement, SIS welcomed French students from Neufchâtel-en-Bray's Georges Brassens high school to Shenzhen. This in-person exchange has laid a foundation for lasting connections, and a meaningful international partnership.

This exchange has enhanced students’ language abilities and also broadened their global perspectives.

At SIS, we are committed to experiential learning that transcends the classroom—nurturing globally-minded, empathetic learners prepared for a connected world.
