This week at The Bay campus, the spotlight was centered on our young musicians. 


Congratulations to our fearless performers at the Candlelight Recitals that took place after school this week. You have shown yourself to be capable, confident, and courageous. We look forward to your performances on the stage at the next recital! 


Thank you to our parents and music teachers for supporting their musical endeavors and creating space and time for staging their talents.

G5 PYPX Update

五年级PYP项目成果展更新

Our Grade 5 students continue their PYP Exhibition journey, with a focus on utilizing the MISO (Media, Observation, Interview, Survey) framework for their research. The students are taking a proactive approach by interviewing SIS staff and experts from the wider community. 


After the break, students will explore the next part of the exhibition by planning their installation and how their presentation will look to our community. Watch out for the invitations that will be sent out after the break!

Nursery Went on a Bear Hunt!

Throughout this semester, Nursery students have truly embraced the spirit of self-expression and creativity. They were happy and excited to share their thoughts and ideas through their holiday journal. They explored various aspects of Chinese culture through art, calligraphy, music, and storytelling. 


They are discovering their personal preferences and communicating this through picture clues about their favorite activity in the classroom, their favorite books, shapes they love, and friends with whom they enjoy playing. Last week, they used different materials in the sensory play station to explore activities inspired by the story, “We’re Going on a Bear Hunt.” Parents joined and had fun with this bear-hunting sensory exploration. Thank you for joining us!

整个学期,Nursery的学生真正体验了自我表达和创造力的乐趣。他们非常开心和兴奋地通过假日日记分享自己的想法和感受。同时,他们还通过艺术、书法、音乐和讲故事等方式全面探索了中国文化。


他们正在发现自己的个人喜好,并通过图片线索进行交流。这些线索包括他们在教室里最喜欢的活动、最爱的书籍、喜欢的形状以及一起玩乐的朋友。上周,他们在感官游戏站使用了不同材料,根据“我们去打猎”的故事来探索活动。家长们也加入了这次打猎感官探索,并从中获得乐趣。非常感谢您参与!



Prek1's Science Adventure

Prek1年级的科学探险 


As the culminating event for our "How the World Works" unit, PreK1 organized science activities for students and parents.  In each classroom, four or five centers engaged our Geckos in hands-on experiments alongside their parents. The atmosphere was filled with excitement and joy. The children and their parents witnessed how materials transform while finding answers to their questions through experimentation. There were more questions to be had!


At home, please encourage safe and creative exploration of materials found in their daily life. This will help develop children's curiosity and awareness of their environment.


作为“世界如何运转”单元的收官之作,PreK1年级为学生和家长们组织了一场科学活动。每个教室都有四五个中心的壁虎们和家长们一起参与了亲手制作的实验,现场气氛十分热烈。孩子们和家长们亲眼见证了材料的变换,并通过实验找到了问题的答案。然而他们还有更多问题要问!


在家中,鼓励孩子们安全、有创造性地探索日常生活中的材料,这将有助于培养他们的好奇心和环境意识。



Water Day in Prek2

Prek2年级的世界水日 

On March 22nd, our FIP PreK1/2 and PreK2C classes celebrated Water Day, a special day for the Earth. Students created a large water drop symbolizing their collective pledge to contribute to water conservation efforts. 


During the celebration, the class emphasized several simple yet impactful practices that can make a difference in water conservation. Our students learned to take shorter showers, use cups while brushing their teeth, collect rainwater for plants, and choose water-friendly meals. They are taking small steps to become better citizens. At home, please continue to prioritize sustainable practices in your daily activities and contribute to a better future for our planet. Make each day a water conservation day!

3月22日,我们FIP Prek一、二年级以及Prek2C年级的班级们庆祝了世界水日。孩子们共同制作了一个巨大的水滴,象征着他们对保护水资源做出贡献的承诺。


在庆祝活动中,班级强调了几项简单而有影响力的实践,可以改变节水。我们的学生学会了缩短淋浴时间,用帽子刷牙,收集雨水浇花,并选择节水餐。他们正在采取小步骤成为更好的公民。在家里,请继续在日常活动中优先考虑可持续的做法,为我们的星球创造更美好的未来。让每一天都成为节水日!



What's your opinion?

Our Kindergarten students are diving into a new and exciting unit on opinion writing! Opinion writing allows us to express how we think or feel about a topic and provide reasons to support our thoughts.


These writers are learning how to effectively convey their opinions on various subjects-from favorite foods to best playground activities. To ensure that their writing is clear and strong, they will learn to use checklists to guide them in checking for important elements in their work and their friends’ work.


Meanwhile, in Kindergarten music, students were artful citizens who used their environment to create new sounds in a story. In our “Sharing the Planet” music project, students incorporated field recordings of sounds they captured from their environment. Next, we sequenced and arranged them to 'compose' a musical story. Their knowledge of vocabulary is growing and shows how they can put everything together to create a musical piece for everyone to enjoy! Check out our final project right here:
