Grade 8 Theatre class is investigating how lighting and sound creates desired effects in scenes. Students evaluate volume, color, intensity and match them with the cue that they have to create a special sensation that further supports  the effects needed. 

八年级戏剧课的同学正在研究灯光和音响是如何在场景中创造出所需效果的。同学们评估了音量、色彩、强度，并将其与所创造的特殊感觉线索相匹配来进一步支持所需的效果。 

The Grade 11 DP Business Management Class was developing new products and brainstorming strategies to market them. One group decided that their product was a flying car, while other created an educational AI tool. 

11年级DP经济管理课上大家正着手开发新产品并集思广益做销售。一个小组确定了他们的产品是一辆能飞翔的汽车，而另一组则创造了教育性的人工智能工具。 

We had a fantastic Parent-Student-Teacher Conference session. Teachers were well prepared to assist students in facilitating conversations about their learning achievements, areas for growth, goals and next steps. Taking time to reflect in this format is an important part of the learning journey. Many thanks for all the chats!

Every year at the end of March, our Grade 12 students write their DP Mock Examinations. This is the last opportunity for our G12s to write exam-style papers in preparation for the real DP exams, which begin on Wednesday, April 24 this year. Additionally, these exams also serve as the final assessment toward achieving the SIS diploma, which is WASC accredited and recognized world-wide. Best of luck to our G12 students this week and next week! 

我们的12年级学生在每年三月末都会参加DP模拟考试。IBDP大考将于今年4月24日（星期三）开始，模拟考试是我们的毕业生为IBDP大考做最后准备的好机会。此外，这些考试也是学生取得获WASC认可并在全球范围获认证的SIS文凭的最终评估。祝我们的毕业生考试顺利！ 

SIS hosted its first-ever Wind, Brass & Percussion workshop last Saturday with tremendous success! Almost 100 musicians from SIS, QSI, and BASIS had an inspiring morning at the Net Valley campus, learning from instrument specialists. We are grateful to the faculty members from Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and the band directors from BASIS and QSI for leading the workshops. We look forward to hosting the workshop again next year with even more musicians. 

上周末SIS成功举办了首次”管乐、铜管乐和打击乐学习工作坊”。由SIS、QSI和BASIS三校近百位音乐师生在我们网谷校园度过了充满灵感的一天，向音乐专家们学习。我们感谢香港演艺学院的教师以及BASIS和QSI的乐队指挥带领了本次工作坊。我们期待明年能与更多音乐家再次举办学习交流活动。

Mr. Doige, Ms. Garnhum and Mr. Busbee attended the IB Global Conference in Korea this past weekend. This conference is an important opportunity for our school to gather with IB colleagues from across the world in service of our IB programmes. Additionally, Mr. Busbee was a conference presenter and gave conference delegates some excellent professional learning around using data to inform individualized instructional approaches. 

Mr. Doige、Ms. Garnhum和 Mr. Busbee上周末出席了在韩国举行的IB全球峰会。这是我校与来自世界各地的IB同仁相聚一堂为IB项目服务的重要机会。Mr. Busbee也是一名会议演讲者，他给与会代表们带来了关于使用数据为个性化教学方法提供信息的优秀专业知识。3月18日在2024年IBDP视觉艺术展开幕式上，12年级IBDP2视觉艺术课的同学 Alice W 、Anneke P、Louis Y、Ryan Y、Samuel S 、Sol G和 Tala K 展示了他们两年来辛勤努力创作顶峰的作品。他们自己设计了一个展览空间并策划了他们自己在IBDP视觉艺术课程两年的创作集合，这是该课程最终评估的一部分。展览在网谷校园的5和6楼举行，我们欢迎大家参加本周网谷校区由学生主导的家长会并参观本次艺术展。 

Please be reminded that we will have our Assessing Wellness in Education survey in the coming April. Students will complete it during mentor time in the morning. We look forward to the data and being able to use it in supporting our Net Valley Geckos.

Grade levels will have a competition and the winning grade will be given a prize!
